This is a great recipe for a quick and easy breakfast. You can eat it cold, at room temperature, or heat it up during the colder months if you like a hot breakfast. It’s very easy to prepare and will last up to 3 days in the refrigerator. The probiotic bacteria in the yogurt break down the oats without having to cook it!
In a 1 quart mason jar, combine:
Put the lid on the jar and give it a good shake! Once it’s well mixed, loosen the lid to allow air to escape (it may put off gas while it ferments the oats). Simply leave the jar out on the counter overnight at room temperature. Allow to ferment overnight, 8-12 hours.
After it sits out overnight, tighten the lid and give it another shake to mix ingredients. You can serve immediately and store leftovers in the refrigerator up to 3 days.
Top with organic blueberries, sliced strawberries, or cherries and enjoy!
